Okay, you've got me on textual evidence but I thought I read in Swallowdale the mention of a winter holiday the S&As had spent with Uncle Jim/Captain Flint at the lake. I understood this to have taken place after the events of the first S&A book and before the events in Swallowdale. As I said, I don't have chapter and verse on this and apologise if I'm wrong.
