That winter holiday with Captain Flint after Swallows & Amazons was presumed to be in a wherry on the Broads, during which they composed Peter Duck. Nothing to do with Winter Holiday, which happens the second winter, following Swallowdale (and before Coot Club).
Christina Hardyment's Arthur Ransome and Captain Flint's Trunk has a transcript of an early draft of a beginning to Peter Duck called Their Own Story which actually has them all in the wherry and working on the story.
