It seems that "SWALLOW" as a name is significant in other cultures as well. In Germany, before World War Two even started, there was work
done to develop a jet powered aircraft. When it was finally produced,
it was called the ME 262. It flew against fleets of Allied bombers
at speeds considerably faster than our best prop fighters.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe (English: "Swallow") was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft.
Interesting to see the popularity of the name, "SWALLOW". To us
Ransome Fans, it definitely has a special significance.
