Well worth watching Lakeland Cam, as it was about this time of year that the Swallows would have arrived in the Lakes for their summer holidays.
Always worth looking at Lakeland Cam, no matter what time of year. Another place to look is the webcam at Bank Ground Farm (the real life Holly Howe)- http://www.bankground.com/webcam.html. Select 'Swallows and Amazons' and it's a perfect view of the field up which Roger tacks at the start of SA. Very evocative.
