This is purely a historical note: a very similar Tarboard discussion on AR and the 'n' word took place almost exactly four years ago - in the first week in August 2009. I have kept a copy of most of the postings. I don't wish to stifle debate, but I should warn that the 2009 discussion reached no particular conclusion and led to a certain amount of ill-feeling. My advice, given respectfully, is that this topic is best not revisited.
