It seems to work for me OK; I just did test postings containing italics, both as a follow-up and as a new post, with no error.
I suspect that the problem was caused by a temporary glitch in the server. Our server provider moved TarBoard to a new server recently, and maybe they are doing some further work on it that may cause temporary glitches.
That error message is "impossible", in the sense that if the tarboard.pl file is not accessible, then nothing in TarBoard will work for anyone. The tarboard.pl script is used for a few different functions of TarBoard, which are working OK, so it's definitely accessible now.
So, the only things I can think is that:
1) For some reason the server had a temporary glitch when you tried to post and came up with that "impossible" error, or
2) There is something specific with what you posted, that caused an error in the scripts, but the error message displayed is wrong.
Having just tried a few things to test the scripts in tarboard.pl, I did get another (different) "impossible" error at one point, but it worked correctly when I tried again. So, I suspect that something is being done to the server (or maybe there is a hardware problem with the server?). I will ask our provider to see if they are doing something that may be causing these temporary glitches.
