Full credit to Peter Ceresole for explaining a few things. I was rather worried that I had inadvertently provoked a political furore. I think that on Tarboard it's best if we give words their ordinary everyday meaning (e.g. 'outsourcing') rather than some specialised meaning, e.g. in politics or religion, which was not intended. And I agree about Tarboard – it is an excellent forum now, not dominated by anyone and free from the technical gimmickry of the mid-2000s.
