I believe that the pike under discussion was in fact caught by a 12-year-old Horning buy, Edward Gillard way back in 1921 and it weighed 21 lb. Before it found its way to the bar, it was displayed above the back stairs where its label could be easily read. I referred to this pike in 1991 and nobody has corrected me yet!
If this is so, it seems hard luck on Edward Gillard.
