Which is the kind of thing we obsessives do, whereas it's probably superfluous when establishing the overall narrative of his life and the influences he experienced. Which is the distinction I was trying to make.
I think that people here have enjoyed the Beckfoot plumbing discussions (I know I have). That, to me, is the mark of people who have an unusually keen interest in factoids which might be superfluous to others. So although it's a Tarboard in-joke, it's relevant to the distinction I was making. And it's fun.
