Perhaps more LeCarre and Smiley to keep the fictional trend. I like to think that Arthur Ransome's assistance to
the Russian Revolution was more based on idealism than ideology and I hope that he saw through Stalin quicker than
most of his contemporaries such as Shaw. His connection through Evgenia was more to Trotsky I believe. Trotsky's exile
might have opened his eyes.

Is there any indication in his other writings or elesewhere of his views about the developments in the Soviet Union
after he came back and settled in England?
