Taqui Altounyan, in one or both of her books, "In Aleppo Once" and/or "Chimes from a Wooden Bell" (probably the latter), hints that her younger sister Susan (the model for Susan Walker) had a very hard time when trapped in France during the Second World War under the German occupation. Without meaning to pry into the private affairs of the Altounyan family, is there a story here? What happened? Anyone know the tale? Was she interned? Did she survive/ Donald Wall.
