"Never, while I am editor of Mixed Moss will an article appear that celebrates Pauline Marshall as an Amazon Pirate". The kind of remark that has become all to common by members of TARS' heirarchy. Never mind the Membership "I'm in charge!"
There have only been, apart from the current, three Mixed Moss editors, so it's not difficult to put a name to this quote. It's just a pity he will not contribute to Society-wide debates, not only on this subject but on those that are supposedly dead and buried, but that's nothing new!
The Society is a little over half way through the tenure of those at the tiller, when their time comes to move aside let's hope they don't take-up the option of returning 12 months later, perhaps that particular Rule (Rule 2.4) should have the same limitation as Rule 8.3?
That said I agree with everything you've said Andy. Pauline has been treated abominably in this classless? Society/ society. She tells me that as a result of the way she's been treated she has now left TARS, I think that's sad, and moves should be made to take her back into the fold. She has so much to contribute to our knowledge of AR and the early days at Coniston. I look forward very much to reading her memoirs, it will as interesting as anything currently available!
