Sir,On 2nd September 2000, I was sailing a small dinghy on Derwentwater participating in an Old Gaffers Association Rally. It was at this time that I was fired upon by a group of men women and children who were standing around a small canon on St Herberts Island. Further, I noticed that they were flying skull and crossbone flags and also a white flag with a bird device upon it. I made enquiries and found that they were members of your Society. Sinisterly, they had a boat with them named"Captain Flint" which I consider proof positive of their nefarious aims.
Now you may consider this all good fun, but being Welsh, I was flying the Red Dragon, it follows therefore that your Society has fired upon the Welsh flag. For the significance of this I only refer you to the siege in Treasure Island.
The likelihood must now exist that a state of war exists between TARS and Wales, no doubt the Welsh Assembly will have something to say about this.

O. Glyndwr.

P.s. It was a magnificent effort by Ransome lovers and much appreciated. Revenge will be extracted next September.
