Following on from Andrew's very detailed answer and having viewed the web page "the ships", one or two questions remain:
1. is the sail laced to the boom or is it entirely loose footed?
2. Is the yard attached at its midpoint to the ring traveller on the mast or at a different point, if different, how do you determine where to fix the ring traveller?
