According to Wayne Hammond's Bibliography:
- Both the British and American editions of Bohema in London had 16 plates. Presumably they were the same plates, so there was no cutting-down for the American edition.
- The only review of Shiel by Ransome that survives appeared several years later, in 1929 in the Manchester Guardian. (Hammond, p. 300).
