I may be joining a debate half-way through here, but in that case - and presuming that the Society can charge for the cost of copying - would it not be possible to have copies made available via Ted's shop or some other (non-profit making) route ? Perhaps with some sort of signed undertaking to not re-record, roadcast, etc. etc. on the order form just to be on te safe side?
The conditions sound like standard copyright terms - which is remarkable for the BBC...
