I am also a TARS member, but disagree completely with J Lambert.

In my view:

I find the insights into TARS operation helpful in judging the society.
I am not compelled to read threads that are not of interest.
The society is not perfect, but is well worth belonging to.
The only way to helpfully change something is to belong and know what is going on.
A society management system that supresses critical comment usually has something to hide.
I feel the content of the current message board is about right.
