Not such a curiosity that the only date which appears on a Kerins-illustrated Swallows and Amazons is the Puffin publication date of 1962.
Your book is clearly not a 1962 copy as those had illustrations by Patricia McGrogan on the front. Your book is at least as late as 1985 as this was when the Kerins illustrations were first used (see Hammond page 88). This was also about the time that Puffin stopped putting print dates, replacing them with the number of the edition - look at the list of numbers underneath where it says "first published in Puffin Books 1962", take the lowest number present and you have the edition number. My Kerins edition has 31 33 35 37 39 40 38 36 34 32, therefore it is a 31st edition. Don't ask me why!
