Having read the entire AR opus to my wife and four daughters three times so far (and being under pressure to do so a fourth, especially from the younger two, now 10 and 12) I find one of the most amusing and encouraging things being the way they contrive their own imaginative play around AR themes. We do live on the shores of a lake; though at 400 miles long and 150 wide it is a touch bigger than Windermere. We can hardly let them go off sailing and camping on Superior, though there are plenty of islands. However, I did make them a rocking play boat years ago, complete with mast, sail (brown, of course) and tiller. The girls would take various roles, depending on the play at hand. We did, however, have to change Titty to Kitty. Could you imagine the effect on others of having a young girl excitedly running around declaring "I'm Titty, I'm Titty"? Keep up the reading: it is one of the best things you can do for children.
