Surely one of the great pleasures in life is reading S&A to your kids, and recalling it being read to you as a child.
I am presently going through this delightful activity, with the added pleasure that my wife is doing most of the reading out loud, and she is not familiar with the series.
So as I listen I get to simultaneously reminisce about my childhood, watch the reaction of a new adult reader and watch the reactions of two new young readers. My 6-year-old son gets delightfully excited; the whole concept of signalling to Mars had him literally leaping with excitement back and forth on the couch. Ah, to have such energy again ...
