A fan of AR since boyhood (now 47) for the last few years I have had the good fortune to live in Witch's Quay (not in the cottage unfortunately, but in a house that would have been there in AR's day). But... Secret Water is not what it was. Witch's cottage has had the banks to the water shored up by the water company (I think) so it no longer looks as it does in the illustrations or the 'photos connected to this site. The cottage itself has been well looked after, which means it no longer looks the same but at least it is still black. The quay is also in need of repair. The good thing is that following the footpath beyond the quay gives a good view of Secret Water!
