TYVEK for dinghy sails

For many years now I have specified TYVEK microporus membrane instead of roofing felt for conservation work. But I have heard that this durable material can also be used to make sails. Has anyone experience of this use? I am thinking of making new sails for our children's GULL dinghy, and would welcome any advice.
