I'm afraid I'm a ringer! I read all the AR books when I was growing up in the UK and before I came and settled in the USA in the 60s. We used to take holidays in the Lakes and (once) on the Broads. Anyway I can't really claim to be viewing the books with the fresh eyes of the New World.
