I don't think so! The only Puffin edition which was abridged was the previously mentioned Swallows and Amazons for Ever! which was a combined volume of Coot Club and The Big Six. Evgenia certainly did make some minor changes in the layout of the Puffins and some small text changes were made including some removal of dedications, but there was no wholesale removal of text. Please see Wayne Hammond's excellent bibliography for more details.

For those who are interested Red Fox has just published a new edition of Swallows and Amazons in its Classics Series - layout and pagination are the same as before but the whole book is much bigger, making the text easier to read. I'm not too impressed with the cover design, however. Any comments? Please investigate here
