You possibly have answered my question - I was hoping Roger would have been the right age to enter submarines(seems his sort of thing - don't you think?) and at 17 at the beginning of 1939, it comes within the realms of possibility for him to be a midshipman.In reality, Roger Altounyan was in the Air Force, but I'm dealing with the character Roger. Many thanks & Yo Ho Ho & a bottle of rum!!
