Aubrey de Selincourt: born London 7 June 1894, died 20 December 1962.

The books he wrote in the 1940s are:
1940 Family Afloat (#)
1941 Three Green Bottles (#)
1943 One Good Tern (#) (sic!)
1944 One More Summer (#)
1945 Six o’Clock and After, and other Rhymes for Children
1946 Calicut Lends a Hand (#)
1947 Dorset
1947 Micky (#)
1948 A Capful of Wind (#)
1948 Isle of Wight
1948 The Young Schoolmaster
1949 Kestrel (#)
1949 Mr Oram’s Story: The Adventures of Captain James Cook
1949 The Raven’s Nest (#)
1949 Sailing: A Guide for Everyman

So if all those marked (#) are books of children’s fiction, there are nine of them! But that is only my guess, from the titles!

From 1950 on he mainly wrote on or translated the classics, but how about:
1953 The Channel Shore
1955 Cat’s Cradle

Note: One More Summer written with his wife Irene; several illustrated by G. or Guy de Selincourt who can’t be his son as they have two daughters?
