More to do with the size of your display I think, John. I'm using IE5, with a screen size set to 1152 x something-or-other. I normally have my Favourites window on view on the LHS, when the slider-thingy does indeed show up at the bottom of the main Tarboard window.
But if I close the Favourites window, the slider disappears and the Tarboard messages appear on screen in entirety.
