Alan Hakim (April 21) mentioned under “Re Tars a Charity” that if you reply to someone well down a thread that your reply slides off to the right of the screen. This certainly happens after about half a dozen replies eg “Re Tars a Charity” or “Power at Beckfoot”, unless you slide the display thingee (which Bill Gates probably has a stupid name for) to the right.
This happens with me, but I am not sure if it is the browser (Microsoft IE or Internet Explorer) or the screen (Compaq) with a 640 x 480 display.

PS re Charities: While not as generous as US tax laws on charity donations, Britain is more generous than New Zealand where you can’t claim a subscription to a non-profit organisation or charity as you are getting a personal benefit from the subscription. You can only claim straightout donations which do not give you any personal benefit.
