Definately TARS is an educational organization. The TARS Literary Weekend, Amazon Press, support for the recent(ish) AR exhibit in Manchester, the various Regional activities directed at learning about and preserving cultural and historic activities and sites . . .
Under US laws there would be no question about the tax-exempt nature of any contributions beyond the cost of goods and/or services received, the presumption being that they are used for educational and cultural purposes. It remains the organization's responsibility to be able to demonstrate that funds in excess of those expended for basic member services were used appropriately.
