My parents (living in England) had a small gas refrigerator in the 40s. Its brand name was Electrolux. (I found this rather confusing.)
When I went to work in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) in 1967, at first I rented a vast electric fridge made by Kelvinator. Then the Singer Sewing Machine company brought out a locally-made, very-latest-technology kerosene fridge, and I bought one. It was excellent, as long as you remembered to fill up the tank every 7 days.
