Dried Japanese seaweeds, which are mostly from health food shops and have to be soaked, have a delicious nutty flavour, especially when sandwiched between two slices of bread with sliced pickled gherkins and cream cheese and chives - a great mixture of textures and tastes. This may sound revolting but, to my tastebuds, is slightly less revolting than the tinned laver bread I tasted once, and swore never to again!
