Peter you have a point. I don't expect that many people will do both, unless they happen to be spending a weeks holiday in the Lakes. But there again, I don't expect people will decide on which event to go on according to regional allegiance.
As August the 11th is the 70th anniversary I expect some people will want to climb Kanchenjunga on that date whether or not there is an official event. I'm quite happy for it to be a "fringe" meeting, the Northern region trip did sound very well organised. It will come as no surprise to learn that any event "co-ordinated" by me is not likely to be quite so well organised. As the non appearance in Signals demonstrates.
I hope this doesn't"go against what TARS stands" for, if you mean coming together to celebrate the life and works of AR, but I appreciate your point and don't think you are talking "cobblers".
It's all academic though, as I doubt that the fells will be open by then. I've heard that a friend of mine who has sheep in Dunnerdale has foot and mouth in her flock so I would guess Coniston is aninfected area. Does anyone know anything more definite?
