Windemere in Cumbria is not suitable for swimming in, according to an EU directive. Heard on a roundup of world news on the New Zealand National (ie non-commercial) Programme this week.
PS: Got a copy of WD for 50 cents recently, to add to my GN. Both ex-library Cape hardbacks, like the library copies I read as a boy. I had a personal copy of “Old Peter’s Russian Tales” published by Thos Nelson in 1946 which was given to me by an aunt & uncle in 1947 though.
