The version I have is that 2 areas, Fellfoot at the south and one other bay are identified. The implication is that the rest is ok, although I wouldnt go in Bowness (Rio) Bay for all the Grog in the world.
I believe Windermere suffers from phosphate pollution and oil/petrol from motorboats. I have had several swims in the lake (deliberate and accidental) and seem to have survived. The main problem is its so cold!
