Some web research located an incredible lag site which has numerous pictures of official flags etc. from everywhere.
Most of the Thai/Siamese elephant flags have a red background but some naval ones were blue. Perhaps Capatain Flint's was not a national flag but the flag of some organization, steam ship line, timber company ????
The elephant flag was dropped in about 1916 or so.
Search around on the linked site and you will find more flags than you dreamed possible.
