I just visited the local city library here in Chofu (Japan) and the AR saga each have a colour plate in the "frontispiece" (actually the backispiece in a Japanese book!). The pics are the same as the black line drwings in the English editions but with colour wash on top. "Swallow's Valley" (Swallowdale) is an exception, there the pic is in full colour. They are very nicely done. My question is, who did them? Do these appear in the latest Cape hardbacks? Or is it just a Japanese thing?
