Thanks very much, Jon, that has been very useful in deciding how to approach the problem. One snag however: I am still running Internet Explorer 4. The 'prompts' I get on entering a site all refer to IE 5. My PC gets confused, ditto its owner. At this point I will refer myself to a helpline and not trouble Tarboard readers any more. Time I upgraded, probably.
