For the record relevant dates for Oxford winning are

1890 to 1989 - to early.
1901 - to early for Jim to be there unless he is a lot older than guessed
1905 - possible would make him in his early teens for the climb.
1909 to 1913 - probable but makes him a cannon fodder candidate for ww1.
1923 - to late to fit in with the 1901 climb
the next win was in 1937.

Most likely explanation - fact does not match fiction. The Missee Lee statement
would refer to Cambridge winning from 1919 to 1936 except 1923. The race
was not rowed in ww1. A similar streak to Australia winnin the ashes. :-) lol.
