And Ransome's own boats, so to speak, Amazon, Ccon-y-bonddhu (Scarab) and the original of the Houseboat are at the Windermere Steam Boat Museum.
And the real Holly Howe, Beckfoot, Dog's Home, Igloo are all there if you know where to look. Try obtaining a book called In the Footsteps of the Swallows and Amazons by Claire Kendall-Price. Many book/tourism shops will have it - try Past & Presents in Bowness.
