Those of you who have read the 1996 Mixed Moss may remember the TARS Literary Rescue Party. A Canadian student appealed on the Internet for help with a presentation to her professor on Swallows and Amazons:I am having some difficulty making sense of some of the symbolism used in the book and on determining exactly what Ransome's intent was when he wrote the book, i.e. is it a feminist novel or not?
The Rescue Party managed to give her enough ammunition to fend off this anachronistic question.
