Personally I think a great modern Captain Flint would be John Rhys-Davies. He would probably even go bald for the part and he has the physique and the ability to be a real bull-roarer. However who would make such a gentle film nowadays and one so potentially incorrect. ie no life jackets etc. Ah well it's grand to dream and to quibble. Ronald Frazer's best point was that he came off as able to join in the fun, which I would guess was the reason for the choice.
