Can I quote a line from a book: 'In 1915-16 the model 'T' ford car had hit the British market with such impact that every other car one saw on the road was of this familiar pattern.'(Apprenticeship in steam, memoirs of a general engineer. by Jack Hampshire - and a rattling good raconteur too!)But I think Rattletrap must have been of even older vintage, not just 15 years old or so. Late 1890's or turn of the century contraption from some obscure little one off engineering concern... About an actor to play uncle Jim/Capt. Flint...I would nominate Brian Blessed with his roaring manner and huge belly laughs, just perfect, have to do something with his hairy appearance though.
