I am not sure about it.

Nancy and Peggy find the Swallows, and then the D's, kindred spirits. But they may very well have had other, tamer, friends in the district, not worth mentioning to the Swallows and the D's (besides Jacky, who is younger!) and, after all, they were both going to boarding school (as were the Swallows and the D's) and they would have had schoolfriends. They might well have been driven, with the GA, in the trap, and then in Rattletrap, to call on friends whom the GA considered more "suitable" than the Swallows. We don't really know. But two girls living in a house set by itself on the shore of a big lake, some distance from other houses, are surely going to spend a lot of time in each others' company?

The Death and Glories, who don't go to boarding school, do have other friends in their district.

I think we are all free to indulge our fancies, here!
