Some people think that Great Northern is also a "made-up" story because guns are used and it is not in the Lake District or Broads, However, I and many others don't agree. It doesn't have the same faraway exotic foreign locations, there is no note to that effect as there is in PD. The only note is from Ransome saying the SA&Ds wasked him to keep the location secret to protect the birds, but they would have done that if it "actually happened"; if it was a "made-up" story there would have been no need to.
