As you all probably know, the USA editions of Ransome were in different shapes, sizes and colors when they first came out, as opposed to the uniform greenback of the UK eds. The difference in pictures between the two has been very ably covered in the Societies
book "Illustrating Ransome". But I seem to remember that the USA version of CC had a detailed map of the Broads in the endpapers which has not been re-printed in any of the moderen versions. This ed was a big fat red-covered book with black lettering and a sillouette of a coot on the spine. Does anyone else recall seeing this? I remember it as a much better map than the going-over of the same territory in BS, which is what they seem to stick in modern printings of CC.
