While the British TARS were glued to their TVs watching Bookworms, the Toronto TARSCanada Corroboree was taking place! Prize for the furthest TARS from home was won by the Dilleys from Thunder Bay (a 900 mile drive, one way, for an afternoon of TARS activity!) who joined up with their friends the Busbys from Sudbury on the way. The Busbys brought their boat for the sailing so that was the furthest boat tow (270 miles). We also had the Cossars (Grandmother, parents and children) from various parts of southern Ontario as well as a few local TARS from Toronto! Activities included prospecting for gold with a multitude of nuggets found, sailing in a variety of boats, at first with little or no wind and then with more, Watching videos, chatting, prospecting for gold again, and a feast of barbecued chicken and hamburgers and hot dogs! Bronwyn Groves provided bunloaf and there was lots of chocolate, the good stuff with nuts and raisins. Mrs Dilley provided umpteen red caps for most of the pirates, mostly crocheted on the drive down!

Everyone had a great time and we agreed that we ought to do this again. So Ontario and other Canadians and even US TARS keep your eyes peeled for an invitation to another event next year.
