Adam "The Terror of the Loons" Quinan's report on the recent Toronto Corroboree (August 19) modestly fails to mention his own massive contribution to the success of the event. Keeping both adults and children occupied and happy at the same event is never easy, but this was achieved with great success. The discovery of the nuggets of High Topps gold mysteriously hidden in the grounds of the Toronto Yacht and Canoe club kept all ages in happy pursuit (the revelation of this hoard in a letter from a mysterious "S.Q. Ashy Hatt" was a masterpiece). Well done Adam! Now, if only we can get you to stop tormenting those poor divers....
Incidentally, though I would not wish to minimise my or my family's enthusiasm for AR, the 1800-mile round trip was not for the SOLE purpose of attending the Corroboree. My wife has much of her extended family in the area, including a 2-week-old niece, and I got some useful work done in McMaster University library. Still, the Corroboree was undoubtedly the highlight -- maybe one day we can host an international AGM. Are you getting ready, Adam?
