Um, actually I said 'both' Walker children. Because there were the two of them, it was addressed to Roger as the male of the party.
I too remember the Miss versus the Miss Susan or Sarah etc. Also in Pride and Prejudice Lydia, when married, takes presidence over her unmarried sisters.
