Well, it never struck me that Nancy was 100 percent female. But then,
come to think of it, I have never been able to define girls and women
in real life or in literature as male or female - they are just
themselves. Nancy is Nancy, my wife is my wife, other female friends
are well, just themselves. What does it mean to be 100 percent female -
or male anyway? People are people, and are only incidentally male or
female. I'm not just echoing political correctness or being SNAGGISH
(SNAG: sensitive new age guy). Throughout my entire life I have never
met anyone who qualified as 100 percent female or male. I don't think
I would recognize one if I met him or her.
