Prue, I couldn't have put it better myself. I'm an English teacher and
among my duties is the joy (and frustration) of trying to instill a
love of fiction in my students. Time and again I've told them to check for realism. Are the he plot, the setting, the characters etc. REAL? Are they believable? Do people really act and speak that way? To a generation brought up on Star Wars and Star Trek all this is irrelevant. Just give them big bangs and ugly monsters and they're happy. How wonderful to see another writing repeating what I've been preaching for years. I suppose our search for literary realism is why we read and post messages on Tarboard.
Cheers and keep on writin'

John
